Yesterday marked the 7th anniversary that my town lost a great asset to our community. The day of Mikes funeral, our principal Mr. Mac put it best….
“The message that is often hard to hear but ultimately true that life must go on. But for us to go on, a part of Mike must remain with us. Part of him will stay alive. If there is one way to prepare for immortality, then Michael did it the right way: by loving like and living it as bravely, loyally and cheerfully as he did. If indeed the size of one’s heaven is measured by the dimensions of one’s soul, then worry not about Michael Monteleone. He is still hitting and catching drives down the third base line. Our lives are better today because Michael touched all of us. Thanks for playing on our team, Mike, thanks for coming through our neighborhood.”
RIP Mike. Never Forgotten.
